Highway Clean Up

The Range of Light Group maintains a two-mile section of Highway 395, north of Mammoth Lakes near the Crestview Rest Stop.

Next Highway Cleanup Dates - July 16 and September 17 (Wednesday)
Meet 8 am, Crestview Rest Area on 395 (about 5 mi N of junction with SR 203). If six people or more show up, we'll finish our two-mile stretch in under three hours. Help to make our area cleaner and even more beautiful! Info: John Walter (934-1767).

Sept 28 (Sunday) Lake George Cleanup
Our RoL Group and other volunteers are observing Coastal Cleanup Day by cleaning one of the most beautiful lakes in the Mammoth Lakes Basin, Lake George. This effort is divided into different tasks. Volunteers in kayaks will clean the shallow water near the shore while other volunteers will clean by wading along the shoreline. Some volunteers will collect monofilament line, bottles, cans and other trash from bushes, trees and the ground near the shore and along trails. This will be a big undertaking requiring about sixty volunteer-hours to do the complete job. The Sierra Club appreciates all the help they can get. Please join us at 8 am at the Union Bank parking lot near Vons. Leaders: Bryce Wheeler (934-3764) & others TBD. Dogs Limited.
