Meeting - Usually held at the New Crowley Lake Community Center (next
to the Crowley Lake general store), the Mammoth
Lakes Branch Library, or at the White Mountain Research Station, 3000 East Line St.
(3 miles east of Highway 395), Bishop. Third Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Bring
a dish for 6-8 and non-disposable dinnerware. Those who cannot attend
the dinner may wish to come for the program at 7:30 PM. NOTE - the potluck which normally proceeded our programs
will in the future be limited to 3-4 events per year
August 19 BBQ & Social 6:30 PM - Hayden Cabin, Mammoth Lakes (Directions: Hwy 203 to Old Mammoth Rd, turn left on Sherwin Creek Rd, first left to cabin). This is will be opportunity for ROL members to socialize in a beautiful outdoor setting. Those arriving early (5 PM) can take a guided tour of this historic facility. There will also be opportunities to take short guided nature walks.

PROGRAM 7:OO PM - "Ethics and the Environment" with Phil Pister retired Fishery iologist with
the California Dept of Fish and Game. Most people in the Eastern Sierra interested in
wildlife and the environment know of Phil Pister.
He spent 38 years with CDF&G primarily supervising aquatic
management and research. He is an authority on the native
fish of this region. Recognized as a dynamic speaker he has
lectured widely on the theme of conservation biology
and environmental ethics. Now is your chance to hear his
important message.
